NCUTCD Annual Meeting - June 18-21, 2008 - Mobile, Alabama

The Midyear Meeting of the NCUTCD will be held June 18-21, 2008 at the Renaissance Riverview Plaza Hotel in Mobile, Alabama. The hotel’s address is 64 South Water Street, Mobile, Alabama 36602. Note: Because of the FHWA publication of the Notice of Proposed Amendment (NPA) on the new MUTCD, the NCUTCD Summer Meeting will be extended by one day (through Saturday) and the agenda for Technical Committees and Council will be essentially the same as the January 2008 meeting which was also extended. Please note the preliminary agenda.

by June 1, 2008 for the early registration rate. After that, or registering at the door, the fee is higher. If you are not able to send the registration form with a check by June 1, please plan to register at the door. The registration fee covers continental breakfasts and breaks. Fees for luncheons are separate.
Note: Registrations received after June 1, or received without a check will be required to pay the late registration fee.
Sorry, we cannot accommodate credit cards, so please include a check with your registration form. The federal tax ID number is on the top of the registration form.
Hotel
Hotel reservations may be made by calling the Renaissance at 800-922-3298. When you call, please state that you are attending the National Committee meeting to get the special rate of $139.00 single or double. The cut-off date for reservations is Friday, May 23, 2008. After that, reservations are accepted on an availability basis and at a higher rate.
Transportation
The Mobile airport is approximately 14 miles from the hotel and a shuttle is available as well as taxis. The normal price for a taxi is about $37 one way and the shuttle is $18 one way and $33 round trip. We have arranged for a special shuttle discount of $20 round trip for attendees to the NCUTCD as well as the AASHTO meeting. It is suggested that you make reservations for the shuttle about two to three weeks in advance if possible by calling 1-800-357-5373 and telling them you are attending the NCUTCD or AASHTO meeting. If you don’t make advance reservations, you can still get the discount, but you may have to wait for the shuttle.
The Pensacola, Florida airport is 58 miles. Specific directions to the hotel are on the hotel website.
Spouse/Guest Program

There will also be a spouse/guest suite available each day in the Hotel. Refreshments will be available in the suite including continental breakfast in the morning. This is covered under the spouse registration fee of $25.00

The American Road & Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA) (http://www.artba.org/) will hold their traditional dinner on Tuesday night, June 17, at the Battle House Hotel, 26 North Royal Street with a 6:00pm Reception and 630-8:30 pm Dinner and Entertainment
